Vietnam takes delivery of its first Airbus Military C212-400

The Vietnam Marine Police has taken delivery of the first of three C212-400 it ordered from Airbus Military. The second aircraft will be delivered later this year, and the third in early 2012. 

Russia to start supplying submarines in Vietnam in 2014

Russia will start supplying Kilo class diesel submarines to Vietnam in 2014, a representative of state-run arms exporter Rosoboronexport said on Friday.

The submarines are equipped with "Club-S cruise missile systems," Oleg Azizov said. Russia and Vietnam signed a $3.2-billion contract on the delivery of submarines in December 2009 during the visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to Russia. This is the largest deal in the history of Russian exports of naval equipment.

China, Vietnam to resolve maritime row: report

China and Vietnam have pledged to resolve a row over competing South China Sea territorial claims "peacefully", Chinese state media quoted both sides saying Sunday after tensions rose over the issue.

The two neighbours pledged to reach a "peaceful resolution of the maritime dispute between the two countries through negotiations and friendly consultations," a report by China`s official Xinhua news agency said.
