2 companies down-selected for RBAF's support helicopter project

The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) has down-selected two companies that will compete for the Support Helicopter Project (SH Poject) contract, namely Eurocopter and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (Sikorsky), according to a press release.

With the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) fleet of Bell 212 and BO105 nearing the end of their operational life, the SH Project was brought about in line with the need to replace and enhance the RBAirF's rotary wing capacity as identified in the Defence White Paper Update 2007.

ST Engineering, Singapore yesterday launched its latest design on Brunei's soil as the Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition 2011 entered its second day of operations.

Witnessed by other trade exhibitors, visitors and senior officers of the country's Ministry of Defence, the parent company of developers ST Kinetics took the opportunity to showcase their defence transport vehicle named the Terrex just outside the Bridex Hall.

The Russian Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosoboronexport will display more than 50 items of the Russian military hardware at the BRIDEX 2011 International Defence Exhibition and Conference to take place in Brunei’s capital city Bandar Seri Begawan (6-9 July, 2011). Noteworthy, it is the first time the company participates in the show.

The expo has been held there annually since 2007, and is evolving to become increasingly more popular with the years. Indeed, this year’s show will expectedly be attended by more than 300 companies from 30 nations.

Brunei Kicks Off 3rd BRIDEX Defense Show

The third Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition (BRIDEX) is quickly taking its rightful place among regional exhibitions as one of the top defense and security events in Southeast Asia.
